Wednesday, April 11th, 2007

CM PunkCM Punk made his debut in the ECW on June 24, 2006 during a house show defeating Stevie Richards. He made his live television debut August 1, 2006, however he did some promotional videos regarding his straight edge lifestyle regarding drugs and alcohol before his live appearance. CM Punk started his ECW career by defeating well known superstars such as Stevie Richards, Shannon Moore, and Justin Credible to go undefeated for some time. His major conflict came between Mike Knox and himself. Mike Knox’s girlfriend Kelly Kelly had a crush on him. This caused major battles between the two superstars in which CM Punk pulled out the victories including being the main cause of Mike Knox and Kelly Kelly’s breakup. His first ECW loss was to Hardcore Holly on January 30, 2007 which ended his 6 month undefeated streak. He participated in The Money In The Bank Ladder Match at Wrestlemania 23 to win a chance to get a contract to compete for the World Heavyweight Championship belt, however Mr. Kennedy won the match. On April 10, 2007, CM Punk shocked the world by joining the ECW New Breeds.
